This Lawrence, Kansas watercolor print shows Fraser Hall and the World War II Memorial Campanile on the University of Kansas campus, with Potter Lake and blooming redbuds below. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Lawrence, Kansas, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Redbud and lilac blossoms are dabbed in wet pink-violet, weeping willows hang in loose green-gold strokes and the lake reflects layers of blue and pink. Green and spring pink-violet lead the palette, with limestone cream, red tile roofs and lake blue. Fraser Hall with its two square red-roofed towers stands on the hilltop at upper right, the limestone Campanile rises left of center and other red-roofed stone buildings peek through the trees. The round lake fills the middle ground and foreground, ringed by willows and flowering trees, with a lamplit path on the right. Blooming redbuds and lilacs mark mid-spring, and pink and yellow washes with long red-pink drips settle at the lower left, with splatter around a white paper border. "LAWRENCE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.

Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Lawrence, Kansas? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Lawrence, Kansas, focused on the campus and lake in spring rather than an exact layout.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "LAWRENCE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
