This Lake Placid watercolor print shows the Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumps on a hillside above Mirror Lake, with the Adirondack High Peaks behind and a village steeple by the water. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Lake Placid, not an exact view of the village.
About the artwork
Fine ink traces the jump towers and long ramps, the wooden roofs and the fences, while the forest is layered in red, orange and yellow washes mixed with pine green. Autumn reds, oranges and golds lead the palette, with deep pine, blue lake water, violet-blue peaks and white concrete towers. The two ski jumps sit on the upper right, with rocky peaks behind on the left and the village on the lake in the middle. A wooden house with a green roof stands on the right, and the foreground is a golden meadow with a rail fence and a winding road. It is early fall, and the lower left edge fades into orange, red and blue with drips and splatter. "LAKE PLACID" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Ski jump towers. Two jumps and their long ramps rise against the hillside.
- Country road scene. A horse-drawn carriage and two cyclists follow the winding road.
- Golden birches. Yellow birches and red maples set the whole valley in fall color.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The warm golds and pine greens fit a cabin living room, a rustic bedroom or an entryway with plaid and wood. It is a good gift for a skier, an Olympics fan or a family that loves Adirondack fall trips.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Lake Placid? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Lake Placid, arranging the ski jumps, lake and village into one autumn view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "LAKE PLACID," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
