A Japanese grasslands print for a living room that wants open space on the wall. A blue river winds through yellow hills toward navy and teal mountains, with pines and patterned clouds above, all inside a clean white frame. VIEW OF JAPANESE GRASSLANDS is lettered on the sheet, and three color swatches add a graphic touch.
About the artwork
Blue, yellow, navy and teal do most of the work. The river curves through the valley and pulls the eye from the yellow hills toward the darker mountains. Pines stand against the slopes, and the clouds are drawn as stylized pattern in the ukiyo-e manner rather than as soft sky. A white frame surrounds the scene, with three color swatches and the lettering VIEW OF JAPANESE GRASSLANDS. The result is part landscape, part poster. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- A river that leads you in. The winding blue river gives the picture depth and a clear path for the eye.
- Clean white frame built in. The white border and color swatches give it a finished poster look before any framing.
- Yellow and teal, a fresh pairing. The warm hills and cool mountains suit rooms that mix wood with blue accents.
- Woodblock-style clouds. The patterned clouds nod to ukiyo-e while the scene itself is a new design.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it in a living room with pale blue, soft white or warm sand walls, above a sofa at 24" x 36" or beside a window at 18" x 24". Light oak furniture and a mustard or teal cushion pull the colors off the paper and into the room. A white floating frame blends with the printed white border for a gallery look. Pair it with a plain navy or teal abstract that repeats the mountain color.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What are the color squares in the border? They are three small color swatches set in the white frame, a graphic detail that gives the landscape a poster feel.
What wall colors work with this landscape? Pale blue, soft white and warm sand all suit it. The yellow hills also look good against a muted green wall.
Should I add a frame if it already has a white border? Framing is optional. A white floating frame keeps the border seamless, while natural wood adds a warm edge around it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
