This Hopewell Rocks watercolor print shows the tall flowerpot-shaped sea stacks of the Bay of Fundy, crowned with fir and spruce, standing on the exposed ocean floor at low tide. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the New Brunswick landmark, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The sandstone stacks are built from several layers of orange-brown, with fine ink lines tracing the grain of the rock. Wet mudflats are washed in reddish brown, and shallow pools mirror the sky and the stacks with white paper highlights. Looking along the beach, the largest stack stands in the left middle ground beside a smaller one, while red-brown cliffs on the right carry a metal staircase down to the sand, with more stacks and arches beyond. The wide bay and low hills close the background under a summer sky with a few gulls. Red-brown and blue splashes with a drip run off the lower left inside a white paper border. "HOPEWELL ROCKS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Walk on the ocean floor. Tiny visitors with backpacks stroll the seabed that the tide will soon cover.
- Reflections in the mud. Shallow pools mirror the sea stacks and sky in the foreground.
- Earthy rust palette. Rust and red-brown tones with dark fir green feel warm and grounded.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The rust-brown and fir-green palette pairs well with leather, wood and warm neutrals in a den, a study or a rustic living room. It is a great gift for a geology fan, or a family that timed the tides together on a Maritimes road trip.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Hopewell Rocks? No. It is an artistic watercolor interpretation of the Hopewell Rocks. The number and spacing of the sea stacks and arches are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "HOPEWELL ROCKS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
