This Hartford, Connecticut watercolor print shows the gold-domed Connecticut State Capitol across Bushnell Park, with flowering trees and tulips in mid spring. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the park, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The dome is a warm gold with highlights of bare paper, and fine brown ink outlines the spires, pointed arches, the brownstone arch and the fountain. The pond is a blue wash holding a gold reflection of the dome, and blossoms and tulips are wet pink and red dots. Looking southwest from the pond, the white marble capitol sits in the middle ground on the right, the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch with its two round towers stands on the left, and Corning Fountain sits in between. Travelers Tower and a few downtown towers rise behind, and a stone-edged pond, flowering trees and tulip beds fill the foreground. The left edge and bottom dissolve into pink and blue blooms with drips and splatter. "HARTFORD" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.

Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Hartford, Connecticut? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Bushnell Park and the capitol, with the park layout simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "HARTFORD," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
