A brushstroke wall art print of horizontal gray and black strokes stacked in layers, their dry edges breaking into white where the paper grain shows through.
About the artwork
The top fifth of the sheet is left almost empty in pale gray-white. Below it, strokes pile up from edge to edge, charcoal, mid gray and silver, most of them dragged with a nearly dry brush so they fray into speckled white. The darkest mass sits just right of center, a solid black block with a bright white stroke pulled across its upper half. At lower left a smooth, rounded patch of flat gray gives the eye a place to rest.
Why you'll love it
- Monochrome with depth. Five grays, black and white layered into one image.
- Texture you can see. The paper grain in the dry strokes looks tactile but prints flat.
- Calm at the top. The empty band keeps it from feeling heavy.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This layered gray print works in a modern living room, a bedroom with gray bedding or an office with a white desk. Chrome, concrete and light oak all suit it. White and black frames both work well. It pairs with the tall black-white-gray sweeps print for a monochrome set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is the paper texture raised? No, the grain and dry-brush speckle are part of the printed image.
Is there any color other than gray? No — only black, grays and white.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
