This Ferry Building San Francisco watercolor print shows the terminal's tall clock tower on the Embarcadero, with the Bay Bridge stretching across the water beside it. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the waterfront, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines draw the arched arcades, the four-faced clock tower and the suspension cables of the bridge, and the bay is layered horizontal blue strokes with white paper left to sparkle. Palms are quick, fanned strokes, and blue, orange and gold drips run down both edges. The palette is bay blue, the pale gray-white of the Ferry Building and palm green, with orange early-fall leaves and a cream-and-green vintage streetcar as accents. The clock tower stands at the center, seen from a slightly raised view along the Embarcadero near Pier 7 looking south; the Bay Bridge crosses the bay on the left, and downtown towers including the Transamerica Pyramid rise on the right. The wide promenade with palms and streetcar tracks fills the foreground on a clear early-fall day. "SAN FRANCISCO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Vintage streetcar. An old streetcar rolls along the Embarcadero tracks past the palms.
- Ferry at the dock. A white ferry pulls in while small sailboats dot the bay.
- Waterfront skyline. The Bay Bridge on one side and downtown towers on the other frame the clock tower.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The blues and soft grays work in a coastal living room, office or hallway with white, navy or light oak. It is a good gift for a Bay Area commuter who rides the ferry, or for someone who loves a morning walk along the Embarcadero. Pair it with our San Francisco watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Ferry Building San Francisco? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Embarcadero, and the viewpoint and some buildings are adjusted for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SAN FRANCISCO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
