This Fargo watercolor print shows the snow-covered Northern Pacific Railway Depot beside Broadway, with a long freight train crossing the street. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Fargo, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Snow is left as white paper with cool blue-violet shadows, while chocolate-brown brick is built up in layers with clear ink on the arches and roof brackets. Snow white, brick brown and icy blue lead the palette, with cranberry-red roof tiles, a red locomotive and a plum-red car as accents. The depot with its red tile roof and square tower sits in the left foreground, Broadway runs diagonally to the back right past brick blocks and a pale high-rise, and the train cuts across the road. Snowy cars and railroad crossing signals fill the foreground under a cold, cloud-washed sky. Deep snow sets it in midwinter, and red and blue drips run down the left edge with splatter around a white paper border. "FARGO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Red freight locomotive. A red engine pulls a long line of cars across the snowy crossing.
- Winter street scene. People in parkas walk past cars with snow piled on their roofs.
- Crossing signals and lamps. Railroad signals and old-style street lamps add small vertical accents.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Crisp whites, brick browns and cranberry red feel cozy in a living room, a mudroom or an entryway, especially with winter decor. It is a good-humored gift for anyone who has lived through a North Dakota winter, or a student heading off to school in Fargo.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Fargo? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Fargo. Some buildings are simplified or drawn taller than they really are, so the skyline should be read as a mood rather than a map.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "FARGO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
