This Évora watercolor print shows the Corinthian columns of the Roman Temple of Évora on their high stone base, with Évora Cathedral behind and the clipped hedges of Jardim de Diana in front. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Évora, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine brown-gray ink outlines the granite columns, with violet-gray shadows painted between them. Whitewashed houses are left close to bare paper and trimmed in earthy yellow, and the left edge breaks into yellow and olive speckles with a few long drips. Granite beige, lime white and ochre trim lead the palette with hedge and cypress greens, and golden wheat tones mark the far plain. The temple stands at center, the two-towered cathedral rises behind on the left, white houses line the right, and the garden with benches and a stone balustrade fills the foreground. Beyond, the golden Alentejo plain is dotted with cork oaks under an early summer sky. "ÉVORA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Quiet garden moments. A couple sits on a bench, one in a straw hat, while pigeons walk the gravel.
- Ancient columns up close. The temple's Corinthian capitals are drawn with careful ink detail.
- Alentejo horizon. A yellow plain with scattered cork oaks stretches to the edge of the sky.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Soft beige, white and sage green fit a minimalist living room, a dining area or a study with linen and light oak. It is a thoughtful gift for a history lover or someone who toured Portugal beyond the coast.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Évora? No. This is an artistic interpretation of Évora, arranging the temple, cathedral and garden into a single watercolor-style scene.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ÉVORA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
