This Columbia, South Carolina watercolor print looks straight down Main Street to the South Carolina State House and its green copper dome. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Columbia, South Carolina, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The pale gray State House is drawn with fine ink lines on its columns and dome, and palmettos are painted as fanned strokes of deep green. Pink crepe myrtles are dotted in wet, and the left edge breaks into pink, yellow and blue with long drips and splatter dots inside a white paper border. The building sits at the far end of the street with its dome reaching into the upper third, while early twentieth-century brick and stone buildings and a few glass towers line both sides. A brick sidewalk with lampposts and a vendor cart under a blue umbrella fills the foreground in late summer. "COLUMBIA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Palmettos and crepe myrtle. Rows of palmetto trees and pink crepe myrtles line the way to the State House.
- Green copper dome. The weathered green dome stands out against soft gray granite and a pale sky.
- Downtown at street level. Office workers walk the sidewalk past a street vendor cart with an indigo umbrella.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.

Styling it at home
Palmetto green, granite gray and soft pink suit an office, an entryway or a living room with gray or white walls. It is a fitting gift for a new state employee, a USC graduate or someone moving away from Columbia.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Columbia, South Carolina? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Columbia, painted to show the feel of Main Street and the State House rather than every building exactly.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "COLUMBIA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
