This Coit Tower watercolor print shows the white tower on top of Telegraph Hill in San Francisco, above green gardens and the winding Filbert Steps. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the hillside, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines draw the fluted column with its arched openings, the stairs and the house facades, and trees and flowers are thick layers of dabbed color. Pink, green and gold washes run around the edges with long drips. The palette is many shades of green, the creamy white of the tower and sky blue, with pink cherry blossoms, purple wisteria and peach pastel houses as accents. The tower sits in the upper right, seen from Levi's Plaza at the foot of the hill looking up the eastern slope, with the Filbert Steps climbing through gardens past small wooden cottages and pastel apartments. A plaza lawn with a round granite fountain, palms and stone paths fills the foreground in early spring. "SAN FRANCISCO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Wild parrots. Three wild green parrots fly across the sky above the hill.
- Garden stairway. People climb the Filbert Steps between flowering gardens and small cottages.
- Spring wisteria. Purple wisteria and pink cherry blossoms add soft color to the green slope.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The fresh greens and pastel accents suit a sunroom, bedroom or kitchen with white walls and plenty of plants. It is a thoughtful gift for a gardener, or for someone who once climbed the steps to the tower. Pair it with our San Francisco watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Coit Tower? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Telegraph Hill, and some background details are rearranged for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SAN FRANCISCO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
