This Charleston watercolor print shows the white steeple of St. Philip's Church at the end of cobbled Church Street, with pastel homes and palmettos on both sides. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Charleston, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines draw the column tiers of the steeple, shutters, iron balconies and gas lamps. Cobblestones are dabbed in blue-gray, star jasmine is left as white paper dots on green leaves, and the left edge melts into pink and green washes with a long drip at the lower left. Pastel pink, mint green and butter yellow homes with dark Charleston green shutters frame the white steeple, with pink flowers, white jasmine and palmetto green as accents. The steeple stands slightly right of center at the end of the street with its tip in the upper third, while Georgian row houses with iron balconies line both sides. The cobbled street leads straight into the picture in late spring. "CHARLESTON" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Pastel row houses. Pink, mint and butter yellow facades line the street on both sides.
- Jasmine balconies. White star jasmine climbs iron balconies beside old gas lamps.
- Street life. A carriage tour, a woman with a white parasol and a cyclist share the street.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Soft pastels make it a natural fit for a bedroom, bathroom or coastal-style living room with white and mint accents. It is a lovely gift for a Charleston bride, a Southern host or a Lowcountry vacation memory.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Charleston? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Charleston in watercolor style. A few details are rearranged slightly, such as the steeple sitting a little off center.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "CHARLESTON," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
