A champagne toast newspaper poster in black and white: a cluster of hands raising coupe glasses, collaged over an 1851 New York newspaper page.
About the artwork
The masthead and date line run across the top, with the old price of one cent printed below. From the middle of the sheet, glasses, a bottle and many arms burst outward toward the edges, all seen from below. Dense columns of old type fill the background, too small to read, and act as a gray texture behind the party. The mix of a vintage front page and a modern celebration gives the piece a witty, timeless feel. It feels like a toast to good news.
Why you'll love it
- Made for celebrations. A cheerful pick for anyone who loves hosting.
- Vintage texture, modern mood. The old newsprint adds depth without adding color.
- Pairs with bar decor. It sits well beside bottles, glassware and a bar cart.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it above a home bar, a dining room buffet, or a kitchen wine rack. A natural or espresso frame warms the old paper, and black gives it a classic newsroom edge. It pairs with the champagne toast on plain white for a matching set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What does the newspaper show? The top of an 1851 New York newspaper with its date line and price; the article text is too small to read.
Is there a plain version? Yes, the same toast is also available on a clean white background.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
