This Cape Town watercolor print looks down a cobbled Bo-Kaap street lined with candy-colored houses toward Table Mountain. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Cape Town, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Dense brown-grey ink lines follow the grain of the mountain's cliffs over thin violet-grey washes, and the cloud on its summit is left as soft white paper. The houses glow in candy pink, lemon yellow, spring green and light blue, set against the violet-grey mountain and accented with magenta bougainvillea. The view runs down a sloping street between two rows of Bo-Kaap houses, past the towers of the city center, to Table Mountain spread across the top with a pointed peak on the right. Orange and blue drips run down both side edges, with pink and blue splatter around them. Dry, sunny light points to summer. "CAPE TOWN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Neighborhood moments. Neighbors chat on a pink stoop while children run down the hill past a white minibus taxi.
- Bolder house colors. The houses are painted brighter than most prints in this collection.
- Flowers and palms. Pink bougainvillea, white frangipani and palm trees soften the street.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The pinks, greens and blues bring cheer to a kitchen, a kids' room or a sunny living room with white walls. It is a warm gift for a South African friend living abroad or a reminder of a Cape Town holiday.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Cape Town? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Cape Town. The mountain outline and the position of its peaks are simplified and shifted, so enjoy it as an impression of the place rather than a map.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "CAPE TOWN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
