This Cannon Beach watercolor print shows Haystack Rock and The Needles sea stacks rising off a wide, wet beach, with cedar-shingled cottages on the dunes. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Cannon Beach, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The basalt rock is built in layers of gray-brown and moss green with ink texture lines, the wet tide flats reflect blue, and dune grass is drawn in thin gold and green strokes. Ocean blue and turquoise, beige sand, silver-gray shingles and forest green set the mood, with red-orange and blue kites and coral roses at the lower left. Haystack Rock stands at left center in the upper third, flanked by smaller pointed stacks, while the sand stretches diagonally to the right. Two gray-shingled cottages with white trim sit on the dunes, a sandy path with wooden posts leads down through dune grass, and a forested headland fades into mist behind. It is summer with a light sea haze. "CANNON BEACH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Kites over the surf. Three kites fly above the water in red-orange and blue.
- Dog in the waves. A dog chases the surf while walkers cross the tide flats.
- Shingled cottages. Two cedar-shingled cottages with white trim sit on the dunes.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Sea blues, sand and soft gray suit a beach house, a calm bathroom or a living room in linen and driftwood tones. Give it to a family that returns to the Oregon coast each summer, or as a housewarming gift for a new coastal home.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Cannon Beach? No. It is an artistic interpretation, and Haystack Rock is drawn a little more pointed than its real shape.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "CANNON BEACH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
