This Burano watercolor print shows the brightly painted fishermen's houses of Burano lining a straight canal, with small wooden boats tied along the quay. It is an artistic impression of the island in watercolor-style, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Each house is a single bold, transparent wash of cobalt, red, yellow, violet or pink, with fine brown ink outlining the shutters. The canal reflects the façades as vertical streaks of color, and flowers are dabbed in pink and red. The houses line both sides of the canal, strongest on the right, with the San Martino bell tower rising above the rooftops in the right background and a small arched stone bridge crossing midway. Wooden boats line the quay in the foreground, and the flat Venetian lagoon horizon sits far behind in late-spring sun. "BURANO" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Boldest color palette. Cobalt, tomato red, sunflower yellow and violet make this one of the brightest prints in the series.
- Laundry at the windows. Washing hangs outside the windows above striped blue-and-white door curtains.
- Mirror-like canal. The still water doubles every façade in soft vertical streaks.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.

- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This colorful print brightens a kitchen, a kids' room, a bathroom or a white-walled living room that needs a pop of color. Give it to someone who loves bright decor or who took the boat out from Venice to Burano. Pair it with our Venice watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Burano? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Burano, and a few details, such as the bell tower and the lagoon horizon, are simplified or rearranged.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "BURANO," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
