This Brussels watercolor print shows the lacy Gothic tower of Brussels Town Hall and the gilded guildhouses around the Grand-Place. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Brussels, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The Gothic stone tracery is drawn with dense, fine ink lines over pale beige, and the gilded ornaments are dotted in deep gold. The cobbled square is left as paper with gray-violet shadows. Cream stone and gold lead the palette, with slate-gray roofs and accents of pink and red begonias and flower-stall umbrellas. The Town Hall sits on the left with its tall tower and golden statue of Saint Michael reaching up toward the lettering, the baroque guildhouses with gilded gables line the right and the wide square opens in the foreground. It is midsummer, with yellow-green drips and splatter at the edges of the white border. "BRUSSELS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Gold-trimmed gables. Gilded details on the guildhouses catch the light across the square.
- Flower stall and pigeons. A flower stall under cream and red umbrellas and a flock of pigeons bring the square to life.
- Very fine linework. Dense ink tracery on the Town Hall tower makes it one of the most detailed prints in the set.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The cream and gold tones suit a formal dining room, an elegant entryway or a bedroom with warm metallic accents. It makes a polished gift for a colleague posted to Brussels or a friend who toured Belgium.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Brussels? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Brussels. Some details are changed for the painting, such as lighter stone tones and flags added on the Town Hall.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "BRUSSELS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
