This Boston watercolor print shows the gold-domed Massachusetts State House above Boston Common, with the white steeple of Park Street Church and Frog Pond in front. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Boston, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines mark the white porch columns, brick windows and church steeple, while layered dots of red, orange and yellow build the fall foliage. The pond reflects the autumn colors, and the left edge dissolves into red-orange leaf washes with a red-orange drip at the lower left. Gilded dome, red Boston brick and blue sky set the palette, with maple reds, golds and rust browns that run brighter than most prints in this collection. The State House sits left of center in the upper half, Beacon Hill brick homes fill the middle ground, and glass towers rise behind on the right near the steeple. A sloping lawn on the Common, black iron lamp posts and round Frog Pond fill the foreground at peak New England fall. "BOSTON" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Peak fall color. Red, orange and gold maples make this one of the warmest prints in the series.
- Life on the Common. A couple on a bench, a dog walker and a jogger move along the park paths.
- Iron lamp posts. Old black lamp posts ring the edge of Frog Pond.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Warm red, orange and gold tones bring autumn color to a living room, den or entryway with wood or brass accents. It is a heartfelt gift for a Boston college grad or anyone who loves a New England fall.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Boston? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Boston in a watercolor style that captures the feel of the Common in autumn rather than an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "BOSTON," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
