This Bora Bora watercolor print shows the jagged peak of Mount Otemanu rising behind a row of thatched overwater bungalows on a turquoise lagoon. Think of it as a watercolor-style impression of the French Polynesian island rather than an exact view.
About the artwork
Layered transparent washes take the lagoon from aqua to sapphire, with dark blue dabs marking coral heads below the surface. Fine ink lines pick out the thatched roofs and the wooden boardwalks, while the left edge breaks into splatter and two long drips. The palette is aqua and sapphire water, palm and hillside green and white sand, with red-orange flowers in the foreground shrubs. The view looks west from a palm-fringed motu: Mount Otemanu stands left of center in the background, the bungalows and a curving boardwalk cross the middle ground, and white sand with leaning coconut palms fills the lower left. Light trade-wind clouds drift across a clear dry-season sky. "BORA BORA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Lagoon color gradient. The water shifts from pale aqua near the sand to deep sapphire, with coral patches showing through.
- Life on the water. An outrigger canoe with two paddlers, a paddleboarder and a white motorboat with its wake add small moments to find.
- Basalt peak backdrop. The dark, sharp profile of Mount Otemanu anchors the soft tropical colors.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its aqua and green tones fit a bright bedroom, a coastal living room or a bathroom with white and sand-colored decor. It makes a thoughtful honeymoon keepsake or anniversary gift for a couple who stayed over the lagoon.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Bora Bora? No. This is an artistic watercolor interpretation of Bora Bora rather than a precise view from one spot.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "BORA BORA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
