A calligraphy brushstroke wall art print of heavy, glossy black strokes on aged beige paper, set inside a wide white border with the texture of cold-press watercolor paper.
About the artwork
The beige sheet sits at the center, a little over half the width of the print, and the black fills most of it. A round dome of paint crowns the top, and below it two strokes swing down and meet in a shape like an M or a W before running off the right edge. Two thin drips fall from the lower left stroke, and spatter flies out to the right. Every stroke carries deep combed ridges that look thick and wet. A drop-shaped patch of bare paper is left open in the middle.
Why you'll love it
- Pure gesture. One black motion, full of energy.
- Framed look built in. The printed white border gives it breathing room in any frame.
- Strong in monochrome rooms. Black and beige hold their own beside wood and stone.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Put it in an entry, office or living room where a bold single gesture can lead. A black frame suits the ink; natural oak softens it. Pair it with the cream crossed strokes on linen from the same range, one dark and one light.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is the white border a real mat? No, the white border and its paper texture are printed as part of the image.
Is the black paint raised? No. The glossy ridges are a printed effect on a flat sheet.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
