This Barbados watercolor print shows the Bathsheba mushroom rocks standing in white Atlantic surf, seen from the rocky shore at the south end of Bathsheba Beach. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the coast, not an exact view.
About the artwork
The coral rocks are built from layered brown-gray washes, with fine ink adding pitted texture. Breaking waves are white paper edged with deep blue strokes, tide pools mirror the sky, and the left edge and bottom melt into yellow and blue with a long drip at the lower left. Atlantic blue and white foam lead the palette, with brown-gray stone, green shrubs on the rock tops and sandy beige. A large mushroom-shaped rock with a green crown stands center right, the rolling breakers of the Soup Bowl run on the left, and golden sand, pastel wooden houses and palms climb the slope on the right. The green hills of the Scotland District fade behind on a breezy early summer day. "BARBADOS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Mushroom rock shapes. Top-heavy boulders with green tufts rise straight out of the surf.
- Soup Bowl waves. Rows of white breakers roll in as a surfer paddles out.
- Tide pool foreground. A fisherman with a rod and two shell seekers explore the wet, dark rocks.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep blue and stone tones suit a study, a bedroom or a coastal living room with gray, white or driftwood. A great gift for a surfer or anyone who loves the wilder side of Barbados.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Barbados? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Bathsheba in a watercolor style. Rocks, waves and houses are arranged freely for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "BARBADOS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
