This Bangkok watercolor print shows the porcelain-studded central prang of Wat Arun across the Chao Phraya River, with monks in saffron robes on a wooden pier. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Bangkok, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Dense fine ink lines trace the ceramic patterns on the main spire, painted white with touches of blue and yellow, and the river is washed blue-grey with bare paper highlights. Porcelain white, cream, river blue-grey and leafy greens form the palette, with saffron robes, orange-red and turquoise temple roofs and pink bougainvillea as accents. The main prang stands dead center with four smaller prangs around it, and white walls and colorful roofs line the far bank. A wooden pier with a tiled pavilion sits in the left foreground, and the river fills the lower half. Thin yellow-pink drips and pink-blue splatters fade the edges into a white paper border. "BANGKOK" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Monks on the pier. Three monks in saffron robes stand on the wooden landing.
- Long-tail boat. A narrow long-tail boat carries passengers across the river.
- Temple roof colors. Orange and turquoise roofs add color along the far bank.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its whites, blue-greys and saffron touches suit a calm bedroom, a meditation corner or a living room with natural textures. A thoughtful present for someone who backpacked through Thailand or a couple returning from Bangkok.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Bangkok? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Wat Arun from across the river. The water is painted blue-grey rather than its usual brown-green, and details are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "BANGKOK," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
