This Albany, New York watercolor print shows the New York State Capitol across Empire State Plaza, with The Egg, two white towers and a long reflecting pool full of fountains. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Albany, New York, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink outlines the steep red tile roofs, arched windows and dormers of the Capitol, and the vertical lines of the white towers. Green and pool blue lead the palette, with granite gray, white concrete, red roof tiles and pink, red and yellow tulips. The castle-like Capitol stands on the left, while the towers and The Egg sit on the right. The reflecting pool runs on a diagonal from the lower right to the center, with water jets left as white paper. Tulip beds and plaza steps fill the left foreground in late spring, and green hills and the Hudson River close the background. "ALBANY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Old meets modern. A castle-like Capitol faces sleek white towers across the plaza.
- Tulip beds. Pink, red and yellow tulips bloom along the plaza steps.
- Fountain pool. Water jets rise from the long pool as people sit along its edge.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Greens, blues and soft pinks look good in a bright office, a living room or a bedroom with white walls. It is a thoughtful gift for a state worker, a new graduate or anyone who grew up in the Capital Region.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Albany, New York? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Albany, New York, and some details, such as The Egg and the number of towers, are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ALBANY," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
