This Wrightsville Beach watercolor print shows Johnnie Mercer's Pier stretching into the Atlantic, seen from the sea-oat dunes with a white lifeguard stand on the sand below. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of this North Carolina beach town, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Pale turquoise waves carry white foam left as paper, and wet sand mirrors the sky in thin washes. Sea oats are drawn in yellow-green dry-brush strokes, fine ink defines the pilings and wooden houses, and the left edge melts into long blue-violet drips. The palette is soft pastel: pale sea blue and seafoam, sand beige and sea-oat green, with blue umbrellas as accents. Looking north from the dunes, the pier crosses the middle ground from its pier house out to sea, raised beach houses with porches line the left, a white lifeguard stand sits on the beach, and dunes with a walkway and sand fence fill the foreground. It is a clear early-summer day. "WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Soft pastel palette. Seafoam, sand and pale sky keep the whole print light and calm.
- Anglers on the pier. A row of people fish from the rail while a surfer waits near the pilings.
- Dune walkway foreground. The sand fence and wooden walkway pull you into the scene as if arriving at the beach.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Light pastels suit a beach-house bedroom, a guest room or a sunny bathroom with white and soft blue. A nice keepsake for someone who spent summers on the North Carolina coast.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Wrightsville Beach? No. It is an artistic interpretation seen from atop the dunes, and the pier house and a few beach details are drawn freely.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
