A messy hair portrait poster in black and white: a studio photo of a woman running both hands back through tousled hair, lips parted, against flat dark grey.
About the artwork
Her head tilts back slightly, and loose strands fall across half of her face, so you catch only part of her expression. The raised arms frame the face on both sides and pull the eye to the center. A black leather jacket shows at each shoulder, adding a hard, shiny edge below all that soft hair. High contrast picks out single strands against the backdrop. The pose feels caught in motion, as if the shutter fired mid-gesture.
Why you'll love it
- Mood without color. An expressive image that adds feeling while keeping the palette neutral.
- Bedroom friendly. The relaxed, private gesture suits a calm personal space.
- Pairs with bold pieces. Its dark tones anchor brighter prints on a mixed wall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it above a bed or a velvet armchair in a bedroom corner. A black frame keeps it moody, and a white frame lifts the dark grey ground. Group it with other studio portraits on the same grey backdrop for a tight, unified set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is the background like? A plain, dark grey studio backdrop.
Does it have writing? No, there is no text, just the portrait.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
