This Williamsburg, Virginia watercolor print shows the Governor's Palace at the end of a snow-dusted Palace Green, with Bruton Parish Church on the left and holiday wreaths on doors and lamp posts. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Williamsburg, Virginia, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink outlines the brick, dormers, iron gates and the church steeple, and the light snow is left as bare paper on grass and roofs. Grass and pine green with brick red lead the palette, with snow white, red coats, red bows and a pale violet-blue sky. The red brick palace with its white cupola sits in the center behind an iron gate, and the brick church with a white steeple stands on the left. White wooden houses line both sides, and the foreground is the green with a white picket fence on the left. Bare trees are drawn in fine pen, and the left edge dissolves into rose red and moss green with drips. "WILLIAMSBURG" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Fife and drum corps. A corps in red coats marches across the snowy green.
- Holiday wreaths. Evergreen wreaths with red bows hang on doors and lamp posts.
- Colonial carriage. A horse-drawn carriage carries riders in colonial dress past the palace.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Brick red, green and snowy white suit a traditional living room, a dining room for the holidays or a hallway with dark wood. It is a lovely gift for a history buff or a family that visits Colonial Williamsburg each December.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Williamsburg, Virginia? No. This is an artistic interpretation of Williamsburg, Virginia, bringing the palace, green and church into one winter scene.

Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
