This Hawksbill Crag watercolor print shows the beak-shaped sandstone ledge of Whitaker Point jutting over the Whitaker Creek valley in peak fall color. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the crag, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines mark the stacked layers of the ledge, while the autumn forest is dense dabs of red, orange and yellow. Valley mist is left as white paper, and distant hills are clear purple-blue washes. The palette is maple red, oak orange, gold and sandstone beige, with blue-violet ridges and white mist as accents. The crag juts out left of center, the deep forested valley and cliffs sit to the right, and layered Ozark Mountain ridges fade into haze. A lichen-covered bluff edge with red oaks fills the foreground. "HAWKSBILL CRAG" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Lone hiker on top. A hiker with a blue pack stands at the tip of the crag.
- Mist in the valley. A ribbon of white mist and a small creek lie far below.
- Peak fall color. Red and orange forest fills nearly every slope.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its warm reds and oranges glow in a fall-toned living room, a den or an office with leather and wood. It makes a great gift for a hiker who has stood on the crag or an Arkansas native who misses the Ozarks.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Hawksbill Crag? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Hawksbill Crag at Whitaker Point, rendered in watercolor and ink rather than as a true-to-life view.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "HAWKSBILL CRAG," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
