A Wat Arun Bangkok poster seen the way the temple is meant to be seen, from out on the water. The tall pale prang lifts above the far bank in low sun, four smaller towers stand around it, and the Chao Phraya fills the lower half of the frame in restless turquoise.
About the artwork
Water takes more than half the composition, built from short strokes in teal, jade and pale coral that catch the light in white sparks. The temple is drawn as fine stippled relief rather than flat blocks, so the tiered prang reads as encrusted porcelain against clean turquoise sky. Low pavilions and timber jetties line the bank, and two wooden longtail boats cross the foreground, one close enough to show its raked prow. Lettering reads BANGKOK above THAILAND.
Why you'll love it
- A cooler, quieter Thailand print, held together by one dominant blue-green.
- The water surface carries well on matte canvas, where sparkle reads as brushwork.
- Strong horizontal bands keep it balanced even when hung high.
- Reads as a seascape as much as a landmark, suiting coastal interiors.
Where it works at home
Because the mass of the image is water, this reads as a calm colour field from across a room and only resolves into a temple up close. That suits a bedroom wall facing the bed, or a hallway you pass at short range. Oak softens the turquoise; black keeps it crisp.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
How is this different from the other Bangkok print in the shop? This is the river view: one tall riverside tower across the water, longtail boats in front and the river taking half the frame. The other Bangkok artwork looks down into the royal palace compound, with a gilded chedi, orange roofs and a courtyard of people.
