A Victoria Peak travel poster looking straight down the hillside over Hong Kong. The foreground is a steep green slope with pale rock and small red-pink wildflowers; below it hundreds of pale towers crowd every metre of buildable ground and run down to the harbour, where the water turns from jade to open blue.
About the artwork
The drawing is dense line work over flat colour, and the towers are built from thousands of small rectangles that thin into haze towards the far shore. Greens do the heavy lifting: bright grass in the foreground slope, olive in the ridge, muted sage across the distant hills, all against a soft aqua sky. The buildings are cream and pale gold with cool blue shadow on one face, which gives the hillside its depth. The type reads HONG KONG above CHINA SAR in white capitals.
Why you'll love it
- Fine tower detail that rewards the larger sizes.
- Paper, matte canvas or ready-to-hang framed canvas in four frame colours.
- Thirteen sizes, from 8 x 12 inches up to 30 x 40.
- Pigment inks keep the greens from turning yellow over years on the wall.
Where it works at home
This is a print people stand in front of, so give it dwell time: a living room wall you face from the sofa, or the top of a staircase where you meet it at eye level. The green foreground plays well with real plants and with sage or clay paint, while the mass of cool grey-cream towers stops it feeling tropical.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
How is this different from the Tian Tan Buddha Hong Kong print? Both carry the same HONG KONG lettering but show opposite sides of the territory. This one is the city view from the green slopes above the harbour. The Tian Tan Buddha print is the seated bronze figure on its hilltop platform among forested ridges, with no skyline at all.
