This Traverse City watercolor print shows the white Mission Point Lighthouse under tall pines on Old Mission Peninsula, with the clear turquoise water of Grand Traverse Bay alongside. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Traverse City, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The shallow water is layered in turquoise with bare-paper ripples and pebbles visible through it, and the white wooden lighthouse is left as paper with fine ink lines. Bay turquoise, pine green and white clapboard lead the palette, with red berries, red and yellow kayaks and sandy beige as accents. The lighthouse with its keeper's house and black-railed lantern stands at left under tall pines, a small log cabin sits in the corner and a pebbly beach curves from the foreground toward the center. The bay fills the right half with a sailboat and kayaks, and the wooded far shore lines the horizon. It is a bright midsummer scene, with yellow, green and red washes dripping from the lower left and splatter around a white paper border. "TRAVERSE CITY" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Kids in the shallows. Children wade along the clear, pebbly shoreline.
- Bright kayaks. Red and yellow kayaks and a white sailboat float on the bay.
- Driftwood and dune grass. A weathered log and beach grass fill the foreground.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise and pine green feel right in a lake house, a sunroom or a bedroom with white and natural linen. It is a sweet gift for a family that summers up north or a couple who spent a summer week in Traverse City.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Traverse City? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Traverse City. Some details of the lighthouse are reshaped to suit the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "TRAVERSE CITY," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
