This Tikal Guatemala travel poster is drawn from a viewpoint inside the trees. Low ruined platforms, a standing carved stela and fan palms fill the foreground, the forest drops away into a middle band of crowns, and a stepped stone pyramid pushes its steep stairway and tall roof comb clear of an otherwise flat canopy that runs unbroken to a pale horizon.
About the artwork
The technique is layered flat colour with fine stipple in the foliage, so the canopy reads as thousands of small leaf clusters in six or seven greens rather than one green mass. The palette runs pale blue and hazy aqua in the sky, warm sand and grey in the stone, and everything between lime and near-black in the trees. Two tall trunks frame the left and right edges and hold the eye on the temple, which sits slightly above centre with its stair a narrow ladder of shadow. The lettering is printed in white at the top: TIKAL above GUATEMALA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A horizon made of treetops — the canopy runs flat to the skyline, so the temple is the only thing that breaks it.
- Layered green depth — palms, crowns and distant forest sit in distinct bands that give the print real recession.
- Stone and leaf together — the carved stela and low platforms at the bottom edge tell you the forest is full of ruins, not empty.
- Calm, low-contrast colour — greens and hazy blue keep it restful even at a large size.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is the quietest print in the set — mostly green with a pale blue band across the top — so it holds a wall without competing with furniture. Cream, bone and warm grey walls let the greens deepen; olive or forest paint makes it feel like a window rather than a picture. Espresso and walnut frames pick up the sandy stone of the temple, while natural oak keeps it airy. It works above a bed, in a reading corner beside real plants, or over a desk where a restful subject is more useful than a bright one.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is the tall structure at the top of the pyramid? It is the roof comb, the openwork stone crest built above the small temple room at the summit. It is what lifts the building above the treetops in this view.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
