About the artwork

The technique is layered flat colour with fine stipple in the foliage, so the canopy reads as thousands of small leaf clusters in six or seven greens rather than one green mass. The palette runs pale blue and hazy aqua in the sky, warm sand and grey in the stone, and everything between lime and near-black in the trees.
