This Taormina watercolor print shows the red brick stage wall of the Teatro Antico di Taormina, with snow-capped Mount Etna and the Bay of Naxos beyond. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Taormina, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The brick stage wall is glazed in clear terracotta and outlined in thin brown ink, while the stone seating is kept pale, close to the paper. Etna's snowy summit is left white with a soft gray plume, and the left edge bleeds pink and violet with many long drips. Brick red and stone beige lead the palette with sea blue and the pale violet of the volcano, and violet-pink wildflowers add the accent. The arched wall and a few Corinthian columns sit left of center, curved rows of seats sweep down from the left, Etna and the curving coast fill the right background, and grassy stone steps make the foreground. Snow still lingers on the mountain in early spring. "TAORMINA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Smoke over Etna. A thin plume drifts from the volcano's snowy summit.
- Visitors on the steps. People rest on the ancient stone seats, one wearing a straw hat.
- Hillside villas. Villas and rows of cypress dot the slope above the sea.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Terracotta, blue and soft violet suit a Mediterranean-style living room, a dining room or a study with warm wood. It is a strong gift for a classics lover or someone who toured Sicily.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Taormina? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Taormina that frames the theater, the coast and Mount Etna together in one watercolor-style scene.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "TAORMINA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
