This Statue of Liberty watercolor print shows Lady Liberty on her granite pedestal in New York Harbor, with Ellis Island and the Lower Manhattan skyline behind her. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the harbor, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines outline the statue, her stepped stone pedestal and the distant skyline, while layered horizontal blue strokes leave bits of white paper to catch light on the water. The palette is led by harbor blue and the statue's copper green, with a golden torch, the red brick of Ellis Island and a tiny American flag as accents. The view looks north-east from a ferry in Upper New York Bay: the statue stands center-right and rises above the skyline, Liberty Island's trees and dock sit in the middle ground, and One World Trade Center points up from Lower Manhattan in the distance. The lower left corner dissolves into green, gold and violet washes with drips, and splatter fades into a white paper border. It is late spring, with fresh green trees and a clear sky. "NEW YORK" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Harbor traffic. A crowded white ferry, a red-and-black tugboat and a small sailboat move across the bay below the statue.
- Copper and gold. The statue's green patina is set off by a gold torch flame and the red brick domes of Ellis Island.
- Two icons in one. Lady Liberty in front and One World Trade Center on the skyline put two New York landmarks in a single frame.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The cool blues and greens sit well in a living room, home office or entryway with navy, white or coastal decor. It makes a thoughtful gift for a new citizen, someone whose family story began in New York Harbor, or anyone who loves the city. Pair it with our New York City watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Statue of Liberty? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the harbor view, and some details, such as the walls around the base of the pedestal, are simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "NEW YORK," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
