This St. Augustine watercolor print shows the stone walls of Castillo de San Marcos along Matanzas Bay, with the Bridge of Lions and the old town's tiled roofs beyond. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of St. Augustine, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Matanzas Bay is a blue wash with bright streaks of bare paper, and fine ink lines mark each block of the coquina stone walls. Orange-red drips run at the lower left, orange and blue splatter rings the border and strong blue clouds drift on the left. Coquina gray-beige, bay blue and palm green form the base, with terracotta roof tiles and bridge towers as accents. The fort stretches across the middle left with a domed watchtower at its corner, the white bridge with two red-roofed towers sits behind on the right and the cathedral bell tower rises over the old town on the left. Seen from above along the seawall in early summer, the foreground holds a walkway, palms and rocks. "ST. AUGUSTINE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Coquina stone texture. Ink linework traces the old fort's stone blocks one by one.
- Pelicans on the rocks. Two pelicans perch on the rocks while a white sailboat crosses the bay.
- Old-town carriage. A brown horse-drawn carriage carries visitors along the waterfront.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its sandy beige, blue and terracotta tones suit a coastal living room, a beach-house hallway or a sunroom. It makes a lovely memento for a couple who honeymooned in St. Augustine or a birthday gift for a history lover.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of St. Augustine? No. It is an artistic watercolor interpretation of the bayfront, made for color and atmosphere rather than as an exact map of the town.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ST. AUGUSTINE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
