This Silverton, Colorado watercolor print shows the compact mountain town, with painted Victorian storefronts along Greene Street and the domed clock tower of the San Juan County Courthouse, cradled in a high valley. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the old mining town, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Transparent layers build the slopes and spruce forest, fine brown-grey ink outlines the Victorian facades, clock tower and train, and the steam is soft white paper. Spruce green, brick and painted-facade reds, mine-tailing ochre and violet-blue peaks set the palette, with red paintbrush flowers and rail cars as accents. The view looks south from the Christ of the Mines shrine, whose white statue stands on a rocky outcrop at the left, with a black narrow-gauge steam train puffing beside a yellow wooden depot and the Animas River below. Old mine tailings and a headframe streak the right slope, spruce, aspen and red paintbrush fill the foreground, and jagged snowy peaks ring the town in midsummer. Yellow and red drips spill from the lower left, with color spatter at the edges. "SILVERTON" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.

Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Silverton, Colorado? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Silverton and its valley, made to capture the mining-town spirit rather than an exact view of each street.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "SILVERTON," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
