This Siena watercolor print shows the slender Torre del Mangia rising above the Palazzo Pubblico and the fan-shaped Piazza del Campo, with Tuscan hills beyond. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Siena, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Layered washes of burnt sienna build the brick tower, with fine ink on its white stone top, and the piazza is a warm rosy wash. Burnt sienna and terracotta lead the palette, with yellow-beige townhouses, cypress and olive greens, and red flowers as the accent. The tower stands right of center beside the battlemented Palazzo Pubblico, the Campo opens in the middle ground, and Siena Cathedral with its striped walls and dome sits in the back left. Rooftops and a stone wall draped in red flowers fill the foreground, and long pink-beige drips run down the left edge. Rolling hills with cypresses and villas set a warm late-spring mood. "SIENA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Swallows around the tower. Small swallows circle the top of the Torre del Mangia.
- Warm Tuscan tones. Sienna, terracotta and beige give the print a sunlit glow.
- Life on the Campo. People sit and stroll on the brick square under red café awnings.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The earthy palette is at home in a kitchen, a dining room or a living room with terracotta, linen and olive tones. It makes a heartfelt gift for an Italy lover or a couple marking a Tuscan honeymoon.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Siena? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Siena. Some elements, like the distance to the cathedral and the flowers in the foreground, are rearranged for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SIENA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
