This Delhi travel wall art looks along the red sandstone walls of the Red Fort from a high vantage point, past a domed pavilion on the near bastion to the gatehouse and long ramparts beyond. Wide green lawns fill the old moat below, and the city spreads flat to the horizon under a pale teal sky.
About the artwork
Flat vector planes and heavy hatching give the sandstone its grain and the lawns their banded shadows. Coral red and rust dominate the masonry, set against acid green and olive turf, dark green trees and a cool teal sky. The distant city is reduced to a fine speckled band along the horizon, and a low wall leads the eye in from the bottom edge. The poster is printed with DELHI in white capitals and INDIA below.
Why you'll love it
- Red against green, a contrast strong enough to carry a wall on its own.
- A raised viewpoint that shows the length of the walls rather than a single gate.
- Archival paper or gallery-wrapped canvas, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- Warm masonry tones that suit rooms with wood, leather or clay in them.
Where it works at home
The strong contrast makes it a good single statement above a sofa or a bed, rather than one print among many. It lifts a room with cream or olive walls and warm timber. In a home office the horizontal bands of wall and lawn steady a busy shelf below.
Sizes and materials
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Thirteen sizes are available, from 8 x 12 inches up to a 30 x 40 inch statement piece, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. Every piece is made to order.
Shipping and care
Each piece is printed and finished after the order is placed, then shipped in protective packaging — paper prints rolled in a rigid tube, canvas and framed canvas boxed with corner guards. Keep the artwork out of direct sunlight and wipe framed canvas with a dry, soft cloth. Paper prints are best handled by the edges until they are framed.
Questions
Which material should I choose? Paper is the most affordable option and lets you pick your own frame. Matte canvas adds depth and needs no glass. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang and is the usual choice for a feature wall.
Will the colours match what I see on screen? Printing is colour-managed, so the artwork stays very close to the preview. Paper reads slightly softer than canvas, which holds a touch more contrast.
Is this the usual view of the fort? No. This is an elevated view down the length of the ramparts with the moat lawns in front, so it shows far more of the walls and the city behind than the straight-on gate view.
