This Portsmouth, New Hampshire watercolor print shows the white steeple of North Church above brick warehouses on the Ceres Street waterfront, with red tugboats on the Piscataqua River and Memorial Bridge in the distance. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Thin ink lines describe the steeple, its clock face, the lift towers of the bridge and the wharf pilings. River blue and brick red lead the palette, with leafy green plus lilac purple, red-and-black tugs and a white spire. The red brick church with its tiered white steeple stands left of center, with warehouses and wooden houses along the river below. The two steel towers of the lift bridge sit far to the right, and a waterside deck with white umbrellas fills the left foreground. It is late spring with lilacs in bloom, and the left edge fades into lilac, moss green and orange with drips. "PORTSMOUTH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Red tugboats. Two red-and-black tugs work the river and cast warm reflections on the water.
- Lilac season. Purple lilac bushes bloom along the waterfront in late spring.
- Waterfront dining. People sit under white umbrellas on a deck above the river.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Brick red and river blue look at home in a dining room, a kitchen with copper or a study with dark wood. Give it to someone moving to the Seacoast or as a keepsake for a couple who met in Portsmouth.
Shipping and care

Is this an exact view of Portsmouth, New Hampshire? No. This is an artistic interpretation of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with the church, waterfront and bridge composed into one view.

Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
