This Playa del Carmen watercolor print shows the small white Chapel of Nuestra Señora del Carmen beside a curving white-sand beach on the Caribbean Sea. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Playa del Carmen, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The chapel is almost entirely white paper, with light gray shadows and ink lines around its bell gable. The Caribbean shifts from bright turquoise to deep blue offshore, white foam is left unpainted, and palapa roofs are drawn with fine strands of thatch. Caribbean turquoise, white sand and palm green lead the palette, with coral-pink bougainvillea and a yellow kayak as accents. The chapel with its bell gable and cross stands right of center beside white buildings with wooden balconies, while a wooden pier, a ferry and the low line of Cozumel sit on the left. A curved beach with palapa shelters and leaning coconut palms fills the foreground on a warm summer day. "PLAYA DEL CARMEN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Yellow kayak. A kayaker in a yellow boat paddles across the shallow turquoise water.
- Ferry heading out. A white passenger ferry leaves the pier toward the island.
- Lounge under palapas. Beach chairs wait in the shade of thatched huts.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its turquoise and sandy white palette brightens a bathroom, a guest bedroom or a coastal living room. Give it to friends after a Riviera Maya getaway, or to someone dreaming of their next beach trip.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Playa del Carmen? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Playa del Carmen waterfront, with the chapel, beach and ferry arranged for the painting.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "PLAYA DEL CARMEN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
