This Pittock Mansion Portland watercolor print shows Pittock Mansion high in Portland's West Hills, with downtown, the Willamette River and Mount Hood beyond. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the estate and its outlook, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Detailed brown ink outlines the slate roofs, tall chimneys, rounded tower and dormers, and the steel bridges are drawn in fine lines. The château-style mansion stands left of center, seen from the sloping east lawn. To the right, downtown Portland and the Willamette River with its bridges spread out below. Snow-capped Mount Hood rises on the horizon, its snow left as white paper. A green lawn, pink rhododendrons and a stone garden wall fill the foreground on a clear day. "PORTLAND" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Mount Hood on horizon. The white peak floats above the city and forested hills.
- Picnic on the lawn. A family on a picnic blanket and visitors at the terrace rail take in the view.
- Forest green palette. Douglas fir green and slate grey are lifted by pink rhododendrons.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its deep greens and slate blues suit a study, a bedroom or a cabin-style living room with plaid and wood. Give it to a Portland native, a Pacific Northwest hiker or a couple who toured the mansion together. Pair it with our Portland watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Pittock Mansion Portland? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Pittock Mansion and its view, and some details, like the flowers in bloom, are handled freely.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "PORTLAND," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
