This Oaxaca watercolor print shows the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán with its twin bell towers, seen from a rooftop across the Plaza de Santo Domingo. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Oaxaca, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Pale green-gold cantera stone is laid in thin washes, and fine ink lines carry the carved detail between the two towers. Bougainvillea and marigolds are dabbed in rich color, and yellow and pink-purple drips run down the left edge. The palette is cantera stone, agave green and earth brown, with marigold orange, magenta bougainvillea, purple jacaranda and yellow, pink and blue house walls. The church and its tiled domes sit in the center, beds of agave and tall cactus in stone borders fill the middle, and the Andador Macedonio Alcalá with its colorful houses runs off to the right. A rooftop railing lined with marigold pots fills the foreground, and the purple-blue Sierra Madre rises behind in a festive late-fall scene. "OAXACA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.

Styling it at home
Marigold orange, magenta and cantera gold liven up a kitchen, a dining room or a colorful living room with terracotta and woven textiles. It is a joyful gift for someone with Oaxacan roots or a friend who loves Mexican folk art.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Oaxaca? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Oaxaca around Santo Domingo. Some details are combined loosely, including flowers from different seasons.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "OAXACA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
