This Muir Woods watercolor print shows a grove of giant coast redwoods beside a boardwalk and a small wooden footbridge over Redwood Creek. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of the forest, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Vertical strokes of brown ink describe the fibrous bark, with cinnamon-red washes layered several times. The canopy is dabbed in green and yellow, and the creek leaves white paper for foam. Fern and moss green lead the palette, with red-brown trunks and a pink-orange bleed at the lower left edge. Seen at trail level, massive trunks stand like columns on the left while the boardwalk winds to the footbridge on the right, with sword ferns and sorrel in the foreground. The scene is set in summer with soft light. "MUIR WOODS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Towering trunk columns. The redwoods rise past the top of the frame and hint at their real height.
- Lush fern layers. Sword ferns, sorrel and a mossy log fill the foreground with detail.
- Hikers on the bridge. A pair of walkers on the footbridge shows how small people look among the trees.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep greens and warm browns fit a study, den or bedroom with wood, leather or forest-green walls. It suits a nature lover or anyone who walked among the redwoods on a San Francisco trip.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Muir Woods? No. This print is an artistic interpretation of Muir Woods. The viewpoint and some details are simplified for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "MUIR WOODS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
