A Minnesota state flower print issued as a 1¢ stamp that never existed: MINNESOTA struck across the top in worn letterpress, three nodding slipper-shaped blooms engraved at the centre, and The North Star State set below the frame.
About the artwork
Rose red on blush pink, one ink throughout. Three slipper-shaped blooms nod from arching stalks, each pouch closed into a rounded form with the narrow upper petals sweeping back behind it, and no two hang at the same height. A fern ornament fills the lower-left corner and the 1¢ denomination sits in a circle opposite. The perforated edge is drawn as real die-cut scallops on a plain cream sheet, so the stamp sits on the page as an object. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A silhouette nothing else repeats. The pouched slipper form is unlike any other shape in the fifty, so this sheet is recognisable from across the room.
- Three stalks at three heights. The blooms nod at different levels, which walks the eye down the panel instead of parking it in the middle.
- Built as a set of fifty. Every state shares the same frame, denomination and typography, so any combination lines up.
- A gift for someone from Minnesota. Home state on the wall, without souvenir kitsch.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Rose red is stronger than the blush ground first suggests, and daylight is what shows it, so put this one where the morning gets in: a sunroom, a window seat, the top of a bookcase where it can lean rather than hang. Cool off-whites and pale greys keep the red honest, where a cream wall would drag it toward brown. Pale ash or a plain white moulding, clear glass and linen suit it; skip gold, which fights the pink. Lean a 12" x 16" on a shelf or hang 20" x 30" for a full wall. If it joins a row, flank it with two quiet sheets so the red stays the loudest thing there.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console, desk or shelf, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Can I collect more than one state? Yes. All fifty share one format and one denomination, so any combination hangs as a matched set.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Damage, defects & care
Every piece is printed for you after you order, so we cannot take a print back for a change of mind — please check the size and material first. Our Size Guide shows every size drawn to scale.
If it arrives damaged, misprinted or simply wrong, email us within 14 days with photos of the piece and the packaging. We reprint and reship it free, and there is nothing to send back.
Keep artwork out of direct sunlight. Dust paper prints with a clean, dry cloth; wipe canvas and framed canvas gently with a clean, damp cloth. Handle paper prints by the edges until they are framed. More care tips are in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
