This Milan watercolor print shows the spired facade of Milan Cathedral over the Piazza del Duomo, with the arched entrance of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on the left. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Milan, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Dense fine ink lines map out the cathedral's many spires, filled with pale pink and cream, while an autumn tree on the right glows in orange and red. Blush pink and cream marble and dove-grey paving set the palette, with a gold Madonna statue, an orange vintage tram and red-orange leaves as accents. The cathedral stands right of center with its spires and golden statue reaching upward, the Galleria arch on the left and arcaded palazzi on the right. The view looks down across the square to the equestrian monument of Vittorio Emanuele II on its lion-flanked base in the foreground. Orange-yellow drips and pink-blue splatters fade the edges into a white paper border in late autumn. "MILAN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Orange vintage tram. An old orange tram passes along the edge of the square.
- Pigeons on the piazza. Flocks of pigeons scatter across the grey paving.
- Cafe by the Galleria. White umbrellas shade a cafe in front of the arched arcade.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The blush, cream and grey palette fits an elegant living room, a dressing area or a minimal office. It is a smart gift for a fashion lover, a design student or someone who studied in Milan.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Milan? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Duomo square. The facade is drawn narrower and taller than the real cathedral, and the main spire is moved closer to the front.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "MILAN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
