This Memphis watercolor print shows the twin arches of the Hernando de Soto Bridge and the silver Memphis Pyramid beside the downtown skyline on the Mississippi River. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Memphis, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the double steel arches, the vertical suspension cables and the glass faces of the pyramid. The river is a soft gray-beige wash with vertical reflections, and the left edge breaks into orange, pink and moss drips. Silver gray, pale tan and willow green lead the palette, with red accents on a paddlewheel boat and warehouse brick, all softened by a light haze. The M-shaped bridge sweeps from the upper left toward the center, the pyramid sits to the right by the Memphis skyline, and barges and a riverboat move across the wide middle ground. A sloping cobblestone landing with mooring posts, brick buildings and willows fills the lower left on a late summer day. "MEMPHIS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Paddlewheel steamer. A red-and-white paddlewheel boat steams past a towboat pushing a long line of barges.
- Cobblestone landing. Iron mooring posts wrapped in rope stand on the old stone landing.
- Hazy late-summer light. Muted silver and tan tones give the river a warm, quiet mood.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The muted gray, tan and green palette fits a living room, a bar area or an office with charcoal, leather and natural linen. It is a thoughtful gift for a Memphis native or a souvenir of a trip down the Mississippi.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Memphis? No. It is an artistic interpretation, and the river color and some details along the landing are softened or simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "MEMPHIS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
