This Matamata Waikato travel poster follows a pale dirt path up a bank of bright green farmland. Round wooden doors in red, yellow and teal are set straight into the grassy slopes, small brick chimneys poke through the turf, and flowering garden beds spill over a rustic post-and-rail fence under a wide blue sky.
About the artwork
A flat vector travel-poster illustration with layered, screen-print texture in the grass and foliage. The palette is dominated by lime and emerald pasture with olive shadow, warmed by a sandy path, ochre and rust flowers, weathered grey timber and terracotta brickwork; the round doors add three clean accents of scarlet, buttercup yellow and teal. The composition climbs on a diagonal from the fence in the lower right, along the path, over the doorways and out to rolling hedgerow-divided hills and tall trees on the skyline. The place name is printed across the top in tall white capitals, with NEW ZEALAND centred beneath it. A clean white margin frames all four sides. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The greenest print in the room. Layer after layer of lime and emerald pasture makes this unmistakably Waikato farm country.
- Three doors, three accent colours. Scarlet, yellow and teal give you easy hooks for cushions and ceramics.
- A path that invites you in. The winding track leads the eye up the hill and keeps the picture from feeling static.
- Storybook without being childish. Grass roofs and round windows charm children, but the detail holds up in a grown-up room.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
All that green wants a warm, earthy backdrop: cream, oatmeal, clay or a deeper olive wall, which is exactly the pairing in the rattan-chair photograph. Natural oak and pine frames echo the timber fence, while espresso picks out the brick chimneys. It is a natural fit for a country kitchen, a child's bedroom, a garden room, or a shelf in a cabin-style corner with a jute rug and an open book.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a sofa or a bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a gallery grid or a desk shelf, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" sit comfortably. A2 and A3 fit standard European frames.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
How many round doors can you count? Three are drawn close up in red, yellow and teal, with more doorways and chimneys tucked into the far hills, so the print keeps rewarding a closer look.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
