This Marrakech watercolor print shows the Koutoubia Mosque minaret rising over the busy square of Jemaa el-Fnaa, with the snowcapped High Atlas Mountains in the distance. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Marrakech, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Warm pink and orange washes are layered on the earthen walls, smoke from the food stalls drifts in soft grey, and the snowy mountains are left as white paper with violet shadows. Rose ochre and terracotta walls, a beige square and palm greens set the palette, with turquoise tile bands on the minaret, orange juice carts, pink bougainvillea and a red water-seller costume as accents. The minaret stands on the left and reaches into the upper part, while white-umbrella food stalls fill the middle ground and flat medina roofs and date palms sit behind. The view comes from a high rooftop terrace, with earthen walls, hanging rugs, metal lanterns and bougainvillea in the left foreground. Long orange-yellow drips and multicolor splatters soften the edges into a white paper border on a clear winter day. "MARRAKECH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Orange juice carts. Carts piled with oranges line up in the busy square.
- Water seller in red. A traditional water seller in a red outfit stands among the crowd.
- Rugs and lanterns. Woven rugs and metal lanterns hang on the rooftop terrace.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Rose, terracotta and turquoise tones suit a boho living room, a riad-inspired bedroom or a warm entryway. A colorful gift for someone who wandered the medina or a couple back from a Moroccan honeymoon.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Marrakech? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the square from a rooftop. The crowd, stalls and buildings are loosely painted rather than drawn exactly.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "MARRAKECH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
