This Lucky Bay Australia poster shows three kangaroos on the sand at the water's edge — one sitting upright and alert, two lying stretched out in the sun. Behind them the bay opens in bands of pale turquoise, granite headlands close in from both sides, and green hills rise across the water.
About the artwork
A flat vector travel-poster illustration with dense screen-print style linework, especially in the kangaroo fur and in the ripples that fill most of the frame. The palette pairs warm tan and rust brown against a long sweep of aqua and pale turquoise, with cream sand, bleached granite in soft grey-pink, and deeper navy where the water runs out to sea. The composition is layered front to back: animals in the lower third, water through the middle, headlands and hills along the top. The typography is printed in white over the sky: LUCKY BAY in wide spaced capitals above a smaller AUSTRALIA. A white margin surrounds the image. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Kangaroos drawn as individuals. Three different poses, each with its own shading and expression, rather than a repeated silhouette.
- A huge field of water. Roughly half the print is rippled turquoise, which gives the piece an airy, open feeling on a busy wall.
- Warm and cool in balance. Tan fur and pink-grey granite keep the aqua from reading cold.
- An unmistakable Australian scene. Kangaroos on a white beach is a combination almost nowhere else can offer.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The tan and rust in the kangaroos give this one an earthier base than most beach prints, so it holds up against warm neutrals: mushroom, taupe, or a soft caramel wall all work. Walnut and espresso frames echo the fur; pale oak leans it back toward the water. It suits a dining room or a wide entry hall where you pass it at close range and notice the ripples, and it sits well with leather, terracotta pots and a wool rug in oatmeal.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Over a sideboard or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" gives the water room to breathe. In a hallway or beside a doorway, 16" x 24" or A2 fits neatly.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Are the kangaroos the main subject? They fill the foreground and are drawn in the most detail, but the bay behind them takes up more of the frame, so it reads as a landscape with wildlife rather than an animal portrait.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
