This Louvre watercolor print shows the glass Louvre Pyramid in the Cour Napoléon in Paris, surrounded by the pale stone wings of the Louvre Palace. The painting interprets the courtyard in a loose watercolor-style and is not meant as an exact view.
About the artwork
The pyramid is drawn with a fine ink grid and a transparent gray-blue wash, with white paper left for its highlights. The palace is washed in creamy gold, with every window inked in detail under dark blue-gray roofs, and the reflecting pools are a pale turquoise. The large pyramid stands at the center with three smaller pyramids, pools and fountains around it, while the palace wings with two domed pavilions wrap around the background. The paved foreground holds old-style lampposts, a bronze equestrian statue on the left and leafy trees on the right, all in mild sunlight with no strong sense of season. "PARIS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Glass meets old stone. The crisp modern pyramid sits against the ornate palace, a contrast that gives the print its character.
- Fountain jets and pools. Small jets of water rise from the triangular pools around the pyramid.
- Bronze rider accent. An equestrian statue on a stone base adds a dark accent at the left of the courtyard.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Cream, gray-blue and soft olive suit an office, a library wall or a living room with neutral furniture. It is a fitting gift for an art lover, a museum fan or someone who spent a long afternoon at the Louvre. Pair it with our Paris watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Louvre? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Louvre courtyard, and some details, such as the trees and the statue, are added or simplified.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "PARIS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
